Finding the best wedding venue in Ventura County is the biggest step on your wedding planning checklist (besides getting engaged, of course!) Ventura County has so many venues to offer, whether you are looking for a vineyard, rancho, garden, chateau, or country club. So the search can definitely feel overwhelming – but that’s why I created this list!
Your first step is to think about the type of scenery you’d like to be surrounded by on your wedding day. Other features that couples often find important in a wedding venue include a getting ready suite, easy parking for guests, and access to nice areas for photos. If you make a short list of the features you want your dream venue to include, it will help with your search!

The Best Wedding Venues in Ventura County

1. Walnut Grove
Address: 3370 Sunset Valley Rd, Moorpark, CA 93021
Why I love it: Walnut Grove has absolutely beautiful lighting, thanks to all the trees and the way their reception site is set up! It’s a very easy location logistics-wise for you and your guests because the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception areas are all super close together. There’s plenty of guest parking, and they do have a getting ready room. Walk down the flower-lined pathway to your ceremony in the beautiful grove of walnut trees (where the venue name comes from!) You will love the reception area framed by the stonework fireplace & stage, where most couples place their sweetheart table to enjoy dinner with a view of all their loved ones enjoying the party. Portraits in the grove and with nearby fields as a backdrop are effortless and gorgeous!
Features: Outdoor ceremony, outdoor reception. Built-in reception patio space with dance floor, fireplace, large bar, and bistro lights included. Ceremony chairs and reception tables + chairs also included! Easy add-on rental options for ceremony arches, lawn games, and lounge furniture. There are multiple getting ready areas to choose from, and they have fun locations for portraits including a barn, vintage tractor, and even a swing. Guest parking is close to the ceremony area, and then pathways lead you down through the rest of the property as the evening goes on. The owner Jen is also wonderful to work with!

3. Rancho de las Palmas
Address: 3566 Sunset Valley Rd, Moorpark, CA 93021
Why I love it: Rancho de las Palmas is such a versatile wedding venue! They have multiple options for each part of your day: two ceremony spaces, an indoor reception pavilion OR outdoor reception courtyard, and a patio for cocktail hour next to the water features (with resident ducks!) The estate home can be added to your rental (highly recommended!) which includes lodging for up to 12 people, enough space for both of you and your wedding party to get ready in separate areas, and a back patio where you can even host a rehearsal dinner or post-wedding brunch. Guest arrival is easy in a very large parking lot. They have beautiful gardens and palm-lined pathways for photos, with a golf cart that can whisk you away during portrait time. I love being on their preferred vendor list!
Features: Outdoor ceremony, indoor or outdoor reception. Ceremony arch and chairs, reception tables and chairs, and linens & flatware/glasses all included. 5. Sherwood Country Club
Address: 320 W Stafford Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91361
Why I love it: Sherwood Country Club is another very customizable wedding venue in Ventura County. They have two ceremony locations to choose from – the lawn or the terrace – and both indoor & outdoor reception spaces as well. With a getting ready suite and a library, all very close to the ceremony sites, it makes planning your timeline so easy. The lawn is my favorite for receptions, since it’s in a sunken-garden-style area and showcases your design choices with such a nice impact. They recently remodeled the entire ballroom too!

An All-Inclusive Wedding Venue in Ventura County, CA
6. The Vineyards Simi
Address: 2525 Stow St, Simi Valley, CA 93063
Why I love it: The Vineyards is my go-to recommendation for couples looking for an all-in-one easy venue experience near Simi Valley. They offer packages that include many of your vendors (I’m one of their preferred photographers on the list!) and it makes your planning experience nice and simple. Ceremonies can be on the patio space or in the garden, they have a beautiful terrace for cocktail hour with lawn games and fireplace tables included, and the reception ballroom is large and decorated with draping & lights. The getting ready suite upstairs is the biggest room I’ve seen for this (seriously, it’s so much space and so nice to have room to spread out while you get ready versus everyone being in one tiny room at a hotel!) and they also have a cool circular bar downstairs. The twinkle lights outside are perfect for nighttime portraits!
Features: Outdoor ceremony, indoor or outdoor reception. Ceremony chairs included. Reception tables, chairs, draping, and linens included. All-inclusive package includes cake, florals, photographer, DJ, and wedding coordinator. Large getting ready suite, indoor bathrooms, guest parking, in-house catering and bar. They have so many choices for where to place your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (seriously – like 7 different areas to choose from!) so you can design your day to be exactly what you dream of. I personally love the Villa and Sitting Bull reception areas, and ceremonies at the Q Vineyard are always stunning. (Fans of The Bachelorette might recognize Hummingbird Nest Ranch as a recent filming location!)

8. Spanish Hills Club
Address: 999 Crestview Ave, Camarillo, CA 93010
Why I love it: The beautiful view from the ceremony lawn is the first thing I fell in love with at Spanish Hills Club! The poolside cocktail hour is a unique experience for guests, with continued views over the mountains above Camarillo. In the reception room, the huge windows grab your attention right away. Or you can also have your reception outdoors on the lawn under large trees. They have a getting ready suite as well as a private bar area for your wedding party before the ceremony. There are lots of nice areas for portraits on the grounds – I love the front entrance and tile fountain. 10. Wolfe Canyon Ranch
Address: 2127 E Olsen Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
Why I love it: Wolfe Canyon Ranch is so unique! It’s a hidden gem, right between Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks, but nestled in its own canyon surrounded by equestrian trails and orchards. The ranch-style property features horses and barns, avocado and lemon groves, rolling hills, and a huge picturesque oak tree that is hands-down my favorite ceremony backdrop on site. Host your reception in a grove of pepper trees by the creek & stone bridge, or at the outdoor patio by the barn. One of the things couples love about having their wedding at Wolfe Canyon Ranch is that there is no required in-house catering, so you can bring in your own caterer at no extra charge! You can also rent the quaint farmhouse bnb on site for a getting ready space with your wedding party. Say hi to the resident goats, alpaca, and donkey! Wolfe Canyon Ranch is also a popular filming location – you may recognize it if you’re a fan of Yellowstone. And I just love working with Jenelle, their event coordinator!
